Savills

Savills, Molesworth Street, Dublin

Savills have made the development and implementation of their travel plan part of their graduate training programme. The work of the graduate team is sponsored and approved by a Senior Manager. The team has introduced the Cycle to Work scheme, expanded cycle parking and coordinated their Pedometer Challenge, as well as developing a comprehensive sustainable travel section for their intranet.

With offices nationwide, Savills are starting their travel plan by piloting initiatives in their Dublin Head Office, before considering rolling out initiatives to their branches.

As of November 2009, 20 bikes had been sold through the Cycle to Work scheme (18% of the workforce) and car parking spaces had been reduced by 13% (from 60 down to 52). Savills are very pleased with the initial results and are looking forward to similar results in the coming year.

As a business Savills understand that sustainability, entrepreneurship and efficiency go hand in hand. By introducing the Cycle to Work scheme and securing extra cycle parking, our aim is to facilitate employees wishing to have an active commute, while also contributing to Savill’s sustainability targets.
